Economic Analysis of Hawaii Essays - Hawaii, Unemployment, Recession
Economic Analysis of Hawaii Essays - Hawaii, Unemployment, Recession Economic Analysis of Hawaii Business Economic Analysis of Hawaii Hawaii, with an area of 28,313 sq. km (10,932 sq. mi.), is the 43rd largest state in the U.S.; 6.9% of the land is owned by the federal government. It consists mainly of the Hawaiian Islands, eight main islands and 124 islets, reefs, and shoals. The major islands in order of size are Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Nihau, and Kahoolawe. Population growth has increased by 80,000 persons over the past five years. Demographics show a large number of Hispanic origin: Asian Hispanics are the most populated with white Hispanic and Asian non-Hispanic following. Hawaii's economy has been long dominated by plantation agriculture and military spending. As agriculture has declined in importance, the economy has diversified to encompass a large tourist business and a growing manufacturing industry. Hawaii's economy has changed drastically since statehood. In 1958, defense, sugar, and pineapple were the primary economic activities, accounting for 40% of Gross State Product (GSP). In contrast, visitor-related expenditures stood at just over 4% of Hawaii's GSP prior to statehood. Today the positions are reversed; sugar and pineapple constitute about 1% of GSP, defense accounts for just under 11%, while visitor-related spending comes close to 24% of Hawaii's GSP. The movement toward a service- and trade-based economy becomes even more apparent when considering the distribution of Hawaii's jobs across sectors. The share of the economy's jobs accounted for by manufacturing and agriculture have declined steadily since 1959 and each currently makes up less than 4% of total jobs in the economy. At the same time, the shares of jobs in wholesale and retail trade and in services have risen, standing at about 23% and 28%, respectively. Since 1991, Hawaii's economy has suffered from rising rates of unemployment . This stands in marked contrast to the period 1980 to 1993, when the state enjoyed very low unemployment rates relative to the nation as a whole. But by 1994 the recession had raised Hawaii's unemployment rate to the national average (6.1%) for the first time in 15 years. In 1995, the state's unemployment rate improved slightly in the first eleven months of the year to 5.4 percent, a 0.6 percentage point decline from the first eleven months of 1994. Despite the lower unemployment rate, the total number of wage and salary jobs declined by 0.6 percent during the first eleven months of 1995. This was due in part to a fall in part-time jobs which are often held by persons who also have primary jobs elsewhere in the economy. The number of construction jobs declined by more than 7 percent in the same period. Other industriesnamely, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, communications/utilities, and finance, insurance, and real estateexperienced declines in the number of jobs as well. Jobs in retail trade and services, however, increased 2.2 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively, reflecting an increase in visitor spending since 1994. Following a dismal first quarter due to the Kobe earthquake, there was steady growth in the tourism sector in 1995 with increases in the number of visitor arrivals and hotel room rates. The number of visitor arrivals to the State increased 3.2 percent during the first eleven months of 1995. The increase in the value of the Japanese yen vis-a-vis the U.S. dollar during this period contributed to a rise in eastbound visitors in the second and third quarter of 1995 by 11.8 percent and 15.4 percent, respectively. However, in the first eleven months of 1995, the number of westbound visitors remained flat. This year is the 11th year in a row that the U.S. has experienced reduced spending on national defense. The continued reduction is due to the decline in superpower tensions and the political disintegration of the Soviet and East European-block during this decade which have prompted the Congress and Administration to initiate significant cuts in the level of defense expenditures in recent years. However, because of the strategic location of Hawaii in the Pacific this changing military posture has not significantly affected Hawaii's $3.7 billion Federal defense sector. The construction industry continued its decline in the first eleven months of 1995. This loss was mainly due to decreasing demand exacerbated by higher interest rates during the first half of 1995, following a 12.4 percent drop in 1994. Another reason is that construction costs rose by 15 percent from 1992 to 1995, which is much higher than the consumer inflation rate of 8 percent during the same period. Agriculture jobs, including self-employed, showed a 6.6 percent decline in the first eleven months of 1995 from the same period in 1994. In

Use Our Top Tips For Creating Your Best Exemplification Essay
Use Our Top Tips For Creating Your Best Exemplification Essay Exemplification Essay Writing Tips: Full Guide An exemplification essay is one of the favorite professorsââ¬â¢ tasks and sometimes students are really terrified with that assignment. And the reason for that is that professors really enjoy testing your knowledge. In fact, that type of writing isnââ¬â¢t that complicated as it may seem, though one of the rarest and most specific. Itââ¬â¢s fair to say that it is a more accurate argumentative essay. More About an Exemplification Essay The definition of an exemplification essay is pretty short and clear, while it requires you to prove your main argument or thesis, provide the reasons and support those arguments by examples. Some professors call it even an illustrative essay since the examples you provide illustrate your point of view. However, almost all argumentative essays are about examples to prove the thesis. So whatââ¬â¢s the difference? When creating your classic argumentative essay, you use the evidence to support your main argument or thesis. For that purpose, you use real-life examples, various data or statistics to support your thesis. You can cite various professors or scientists, for example, when writing your argumentative essay and it will be enough. However, it is not enough for an exemplification essay, while such shreds of evidence affirm the thesis but do not support it as a real-life example. So, exemplification essays can be truly considered more precise variations of the argumentative essays. Their aim is to show why a certain opinion is correct through an understandable life example. It is a bit easier to write an exemplification essay than other types of essay, while you have to think of your reader first. Once you make a point, you should have evidence not supporting, but illustrating it. Good evidence for an essay telling about the social media dangers on the young girlsââ¬â¢ self-image, for example, could be telling about the girls who rank lower on self-esteem evaluation. This evidence would be very helpful. If you note that social media sometimes is addictive, the example wonââ¬â¢t be understandable enough to support your thesis, as well as showing that there are higher amounts of disorders after using social media for pretty long timeframes among girls. It would be better to provide research showing that younger girls are more focused on their appearance as they spend more time on social media networks, for example. Why is this example better? If someone is focused on his or her appearance, it is one of the signs of a damaged self-image. Also, it is possible to provide an example showing how competitive girls are with each other on social media, which also shows their low self-image. In your exemplification essay, you should support the validity of the tota l thesis. How to Create a Good Exemplification Essay: Step-By-Step Guide In order to write a good exemplification essay, you should have a strong plan and outline. Try to have all the points in your mind and work them out to create a tight essay. How to start: Choose a position/argument. Think of at least five reasons to prove the correctness of your position. Point out the strongest ones. Do some research and find evidence (example) for three of the reasons. Your evidence has to be very specific. Read the reasons and examples once again. Now use just once sentence to connect them to the bigger life picture. Format If you have written other types of essays previously, you wonââ¬â¢t have any difficulties with your exemplification essay, while it has the same format as all other essaysââ¬â¢ types. Introduction and conclusion are mandatory, as well as three body paragraphs. The only difference is about the content of the body paragraphs, while you will have to focus on the evidence and make each piece directly illustrating your point. Outline Introduction: Here you can discuss the social media appearance and some of its advantages. Then softly go to the discussion of its negative aspects. For example: Using social media influences the self-image of young females in a negative way. Young girls are taught to be more competitive by society and that sense of competition among young women is only increased by social media. For example: According to research, young females more actively participate in the ââ¬Å"compare and despairâ⬠aspects that develop in social media. There are more accounts of girls having high followings rates in social media in the result of their beauty. For example: according to the studies, when using social media, young females are inundated with unrealistic beauty standards. They claim that it influences negatively their self-image. There are lots of promotions of make-up hacks, products, and tutorials for young ladies in social media. Females are all the time reminded that their appearance is crucial. For example: according to research, young females feel pressured to buy cosmetic products on social media. Conclusion: Social media brings a sense of comparison and competition all the time, it highlights unrealistic beauty standards, and thus, is being toxic for young females. Outline Pattern Introduction A ââ¬Å"hookâ⬠sentence that catches attention. Three subject sentences. The thesis statement in the argument. Second paragraph The first reason to support the thesis. An example supporting the reason. Discussion of that exampleââ¬â¢s importance. Third paragraph The second reason to support the argument. An example supporting the reason. Discussion of that exampleââ¬â¢s importance. Fourth paragraph The third reason to support the argument. An example supporting the reason. Discussion of that exampleââ¬â¢s importance. Conclusion State your thesis once again. Summarize three main claims of yours. Connect the thesis to the bigger picture of the future, life, history, society, etc. Topics for Your Exemplification Essay Easy Topics Is it better for students to have rich parents who donââ¬â¢t participate much in his life? Exemplification Essay Example What is Friendship Once two people establish a bond between them, friendship occurs. A healthy friendship includes mutual respect. Both people should care for each otherââ¬â¢s fate, as well as physical and emotional well-being. Friendship contains some acts of kindness, for example, which do not require anything in return. People should act in the best interest of the other person. As an example, I want to tell about a young man dumped by his girlfriend. They started relationships when they both were in school and in college already they started to live together. The friend of this man helped him to move out of the hours into a house of his family member, after he discovered his friend was moving out of the house he shared together with his girlfriend. He didnââ¬â¢t require anything in return. A young woman saw her friendââ¬â¢s boyfriend flirt with other women very often. This woman decided not to tell her friend anything just because she didnââ¬â¢t want to harm their relationship. Instead of it, she talked to one of the girls this guy flirted with and asked her to show his girlfriend the text messages he sent her. Thus, her friend found out everything about her boyfriend but this didnââ¬â¢t damage the relationship between two girls. Students in my college often are with their friends when they were ill or had times of grief and didnââ¬â¢t ask anything in return. They might never get the same support back (maybe because it was not necessary) but the friendship remained strong. There are so many real-life examples of friendship in which people do various things without getting rewards in return. The acts of kindness or looking out for the interests of another person happen just because of friendship. The friendship itself is a reward, otherwise caring and kindness of people would be caused only by their self-interest. Conclusion Now you know that exemplification essays can be considered a more precise type of argumentative essay. It is more understandable to the reader while it contains the real-life examples illustrating the thesis or argument so well. Its aim is to show why a certain viewpoint is correct or not. Even an average reader can perceive the information well. But in case you have problems with writing your exemplification essay, our top writers are always ready to help. Does Google's Workplace Environment Enhance Effectiveness In Its Case Study
Does Google's Workplace Environment Enhance Effectiveness In Its Workforce - Case Study Example The paper tells that Google's strategy has brought about change while ensuring all benefit from its services; some of the search engines come into play longer before its launch. This didnââ¬â¢t stop it from dominating the market. To enhance its competitiveness a lot of investment was done to facilitate a smooth sail in this sector. As experienced by most players it was hard to realize progress without addressing the common problems present in the market. Google has however excelled while filling the gap in the market while relying on credible findings from research done. This explains why Google excels in its right as a leading player which also led to high profit realization. The existing resource acted as an added advantage thus helped in ensuring they acquired qualified manpower as well as specialized skill to spearhead the objective. Small players were unlikely to benefit much owing to domination by large organizations such as Google. While still embracing change vibrant polic ies were put in place geared at improving staff morale. Adopted policies also ensured training was done; this went a long way in buffing up its competitiveness. These policies addressed staff needs which were diverse in nature. Accountability Staffs are expected to account for their actions; such cultures also assist in spearheading change. This limits the likelihood of regular supervision as seen in other organizations. Most individuals are expected to commit their service knowing that they are indebted to the organization thus their input is of much important. This also limited the degree of overprotection and supervision. Staffs are also expected to make it their initiative rather than keeping on blaming others yet they could be in a position to actualize a difference. In most setups staffs are likely to output more than others but are at times driven by self drive. One is however demanded to exercise caution while avoiding reckless behaviors likely to compromise freedom. In case of one not living up to the expectation one is likely to be disciplined for his action thus the need for accountability. At times itââ¬â¢s also wise to ensure good interrelationship among staff as well as the management. A friendly atmosphere goes hand in hand while helping in transforming the present situation. There is also a cord of ethics which must be adhered to by all stakeholders irrespective of position; this should also be practiced by the superiors. Google values teamwork owing improvement of output. This implies that ideas be shared while improving the output.à Satisfaction is likely to be attained as a result while still creating a long-lasting bond among staff. Google tries to ensure all staffs are happy with their work despite the daily challenges in the work environment. Rotation is also done while trying to handle boredom which could result from overexposure; staff competence and skills are however taken into consideration to avoid monotony thus spurring learni ng among employees. Other improvement mechanisms are also considered such as personal development; this is usually sponsored by the organization. E-Business Distribution Systems and Value Strategies
E-Business Distribution Systems and Value Strategies Srishti Mittal What is a business portal? Ans. The term business portal is used to describe a feature on a company website that allows authorized users to access restricted content or information. This tool is growing in popularity, as it provides a single gateway for staff to access different applications. Some of the most common features of a business portal include customer relationship management, expense submissions, recording of staff time, and requesting vacation days. The technology required to create and maintain a business portal has decreased significantly in price in the past few years, making it much more feasible for both small and medium size enterprises. There are two primary aspects to the creation of a business portal: hardware and software. The hardware used varies widely, depending on the applications that are going to be distributed via this tool, the target user group, number of users, and reliance on other systems. The greater the number of users and the more robust the services, the more hardware that is required to support them. Many projects begin as a proof of concept, and then quickly expand. Make sure your hardware is sized to meet the needs of your users. What is meant by the term co-opetition? Ans. Coopetition or Co-opetition (sometimes spelled coopertition or co-opertition) is a neologism coined to describe cooperative competition. Coopetition is a portmanteau of cooperation and competition. Basic principles of co-opetitive structures have been described in game theory, a scientific field that received more attention with the book Theory of Games and Economic Behavior in 1944 and the works of John Forbes Nash on non-cooperative games. It is also applied in the fields of political science and economics and even universally [works of V. Frank Asaro, J.D.: Universal Co-opetition,2011, and The Tortoise Shell Code, novel, 2012]. Coopetition occurs when companies interact with partial congruence of interests. They cooperate with each other to reach a higher value creation if compared to the value created without interaction, and struggle to achieve competitive advantage. What is a first mover? Ans. In marketing, first-mover advantage or FMA is the advantage gained by the initial (first-moving) significant occupant of a market segment. It may be referred to as Technological Leadership. This advantage may stem from the fact that the first entrant can gain control of resources that followers may not be able to match Sometimes, the first mover is not able to capitalize on its advantage, leaving the opportunity for another firm to gain second-mover advantage. What is meant by a frictionless market? Ans. A Frictionless market is a financial market without transaction costs. Friction is a type of market incompleteness. Every complete market is frictionless, but the converse does not hold. In a frictionless market the solvency cone is the halfspace normal to the unique price vector. The Black-Scholes model assumes a frictionless market. What does SWOT stand for? Ans. The abbreviation SWOT is commonly used in reference to strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. SWOT may also stand for Sydney welcome orientation and transition, student with outstanding talent, study without teacher or special weapons for operations timelines. Exercises: List the strategic alternatives can e-business businesses are using. Ans. Business environments are highly uncertain and executives need to be innovative and flexible to survive. They achieve this through strategic alternatives that enable their companies to maintain a competitive edge over rivals. For instance, executives can adapt through safer small investments or risky and costly changes, according to the Harvard Business Review. Some alternative strategies include price focus, differentiation, diversification and adjacent businesses. Price Focus Price focus is a market niche strategy where a company competes on cost. This strategy targets a small buyer segment and the company needs to have a low-cost structure compared to rivals. This strategy is effective when a business is new, it cannot pursue a bigger market, customer segments are different, or when no other competitor is focusing on the targeted segment. Differentiation In cases where competition is stiff because of the proliferation of similar products, a company can come up with features that differentiate their products or services from those of rivals. The differentiating features need to be valuable to customers so that they are ready to pay premiums for them, and difficult for rivals to copy. When introducing new features, executives need to ensure that the product is affordable and that it complements customerââ¬â¢s needs. What advantages can pioneering firms gain? Ans. One of the most valuable competitive brand strategies any company can undertake is what I refer to as the Pioneer Advantage. The Pioneer Advantage is what the name implies: being first to enter an emerging market or creating a new market altogether. Business history is full of pioneer companies that have outsold the latecomers for years. Market pioneers Coca-Cola, Tide, Pitney-Bowes, Lipton Tea, and Levi Strauss continue to be the best selling or most profitable brands in their categories. The competitive advantages are significant for the market pioneer. One of the most significant advantages the pioneer owns is product awareness. There is much research that shows that buyers do not recall all brands equally. The customer is more familiar with certain brands over others and they will recall those brands more easily. The Pioneer is most likely the highest profile of any brand in the category and, as a result, it is often recalled first. How can an e-business build barriers to other businesses? Ans. Today, people often turn to the Internet first for information about businesses and products ââ¬â whether they are shopping online, or simply looking for a businessââ¬â¢ address or phone number ââ¬â making an online presence one of the most important assets for any business; not just to share information, but to build credibility. According to a recent survey of millions of consumers by Weebly, 56 percent said they do not trust a business without a website. List some of the advantages of having a brand name. Ans. Successful brand-building helps profitability by ââ¬Å"adding valuesâ⬠that customers are prepared to pay for. Strong brands inspire customer loyalty leading to repeat sales and word-of mouth recommendation. The brand owner can usually charge higher prices, especially if the brand is the market leader. Better access to distribution retailers, distributors and other sellers usually want to stock top selling brands. With limited shelf space it is more likely the top brands will be on the shelf than less well-known brands What are some of the advantages of having large amounts of resources for competing on the Internet? Ans. competition is the rivalry among sellers trying to achieve such goals as increasing profits, market share, and sales volume by varying the elements of the marketing mix: price, product, distribution, and promotion. Merriam-Webster defines competition in business as the effort of two or more parties acting independently to secure the business of a third party by offering the most favorable termsIt was described by Adam Smith n The Wealth of Nations (1776) and later economists as allocating productive resources to their most highly-valued uses and encouraging efficiency. Smith and other classical economist before Cournot were referring to price and non-price rivalry among producers to sell their goods on best terms by bidding of buyers, not necessarily to a large number of sellers nor to a market in final equilibrium. Later microeconomic theory distinguished between perfect competition and imperfect competition, concluding that no system of resource allocation is more Pareto efficient hand perfect competition. Competition, according to the theory, causes commercial firms to develop new products, services and technologies, which would give consumers greater selection and better products. The greater selection typically causes lower prices for the products, compared to what the price would be if there was no competition (monopoly) or little competition (oligopoly). It is generally accepted that competition results in lower prices and a greater number of goods delivered to more people. Less competition is perceived to exhibit higher prices with a fewer number of goods delivered to fewer people. Describe the different types of Internet portals and whom they target. Ans. A portal may use a search engine API to permit users to search intranet content as opposed to extranet content by restricting which domains may be searched. Apart from this common search engines feature, web portals may offer other services such as e-mail, news, stock quotes, and information from databases and even entertainment content. Portals provide a way for enterprises and organizations to provide a consistent look and feel it access control and procedures for multiple applications and databases, which otherwise would have been different web entities at various URLs. The features available may be restricted by whether access is by an authorized and authenticated user (employee, member) or an anonymous site visitor. Examples of early public web portals were AOL, Excite, Netvibes, iGoogle, MSN, Naver, Indiatimes, Rediff, Sify and Yahoo.. See for example, the My Yahoo! feature of Yahoo! which may have inspired such features as the later Google iGoogle (soon to be discontinued.) The configurable side-panels of, for example, the modern Opera browser and the option of Speed Dial pages by most browsers continue to reflect the earlier portal metaphor. How can firms use alliances and acquisitions to gain advantages? Ans. A strategic alliance is when two or more businesses join together for a set period of time. The businesses, usually, are not in direct competition, but have similar products or services that are directed toward the same target audience. Alliance means cooperation between groups that produces better results that can be gained. Because competitive markets keep improving what you can get from transactions, an alliance must stay ahead of the market by making continuous advances.1 Strategic alliance is a primary form of strategic alliance is a partnership between firms whereby resources, capabilities, and combined to pursue mutual interests. Professional Development: Choose and industry. Develop a business model for how that industry currently operates and then develop an e-business based model. Identify how this new model can gain a competitive advantage over other models in the industry. Ans. Amazon is a classic business model, it uses the Internet to get maximum leverage out of its fixed assets, and once it achieves enough volume of sales, the sum total of profits from all those sales exceed its fixed cost base, and it turns a profit. It already has exceeded this hurdle in its past. References Kleindl, B. (2002). Strategic electronic marketing : managing e-business. Cleveland, Ohio: Thomson/South-Western.

To what extent does the ending of Jerusalem
To what extent does the ending of Jerusalem forcefully call Into question the Issues of happiness and forever after? Comedy Is often described as ââ¬Ëa movement from one kind of society to another Conventionally, this transition results In an Improvement to the Initial society, In which the protagonist fights against a hindrance, and thus prevails, becoming the leader of this regeneration. This Interpretation can be supported by Frye who stated that the story reaches Its ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' once the ââ¬Ënew society crystallites around the protagonist'.Here, Buttonholer uses the ending to deliberately call Into question whether Johnny was a pioneer of the newfound society therefore achieving his happy ever after', or just a mere obstacle that had to be overcome by society in order for them to achieve their ââ¬Ëhappy ever after. ââ¬Ë Although there is evidence to suggest that he aided the reformation of society, one must conclude that the ending of Jerusalem forcefully calls into question the issues of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' through the character of Johnny as he is seen to be overcome by society as they achieve their pappy ever after' through the reformation of society. This is emphasized through Johnny's initial reluctance to change as he sets about preventing it from happening in juxtaposition to suspected death at the end of Jerusalem as he becomes part of the rooster ancestors. Within Jerusalem happiness and forever after' are called into question through Johnny's reluctance to change. This is seen through Ginger's description of him; ââ¬Ëonce a count, always a count! ââ¬Ë This indicates Johnny's rebuttal to the prospect of change, and his active avoidance to change. This is seen through his previous use of the word count' towards the start of the play when he is describing ââ¬Ëall those sorry counts on the new estate'. Furthermore, the fact that Ginger uses it to describe Johnny Is significant, as Ginger now sees Johnny as a threat In the same way that Johnny sees the ââ¬Ënew estate'. This Is seen through the use of the word ââ¬Ëcount' as It Is the strongest profanity, therefore emphasizing the significance of Johnny as a threat to society attempt to reform. In light of this, the ending of ââ¬ËJerusalem' therefore calls Into question the Issues of happiness and forever after, as through Johnny's refusal to change, he loses is ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' as society gains theirs, therefore showing that the Issue with ââ¬Ëhappiness' and ;forever after' Is that; as one person gains their ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' another persons Is lost. Include Boll quote. In addition, Johnny's presentation as the traditional trickster' aids Buttonholer in calling into question the issues of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and ;forever after'.A trickster is a typical comic character that is involved in manipulating the other characters for lies, which challenge and mock society (them Facet and Parsons always sending me love letters'). This is also seen through his ââ¬Ëgender and form variability, such as when he takes on the role of ââ¬ËBoron's dog Sheep' in order to mock Facet and Parsons. The issues of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' are then called into question, as a traditional comic ending for a trickster would be reconciliation, where they are punished for their crimes, as part of the transition into a new society, showing the transition into ââ¬Ëhappiness' to be brutal. This is seen In Jerusalem ending, as Johnny completes his portrayal as a trickster figure by being punished for his manipulation f characters and general devious behavior towards society, in a rather brutal fashion. This is shown when ââ¬Å"He stumbles down the steps. He has broken ribs. Wrist. He's bloodied. â⬠The trickster is punished violently here in a brutal fashion, which is emphasized through Butterscotch's use of short sentences in order to convey his injuries in the most explicit fashion.Through John ny's barbaric punishment by society in order to achieve ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' one is forced to question the issues with ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' through the lengths in which Johnny is forced, and whether one achieves ââ¬Ëhappiness' through doing so. Buttonholer further uses the character of Johnny to forcefully call into question the issues of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' through his involvement in the ââ¬ËGreen world'.This is shown through his existence purely in the woods, where he is shown to be a catalyst for the challenges society faces, as he is happy in the forest, therefore showing that through society gaining their ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' they destroy his. This is shown in the end of the play, where he fails to prevent the unwanted shift in society and remains in a state of desperation, calling back to England's history: ââ¬Å"Come you Italians. You fields of ghosts who walk these green plains still. Come, you giants! â⬠There is definite ly no sign of ââ¬Å"forever afterâ⬠here. This is seen through Johnny's refusal to conform to his new society, but also his refusal to give up fighting against the likes of Kenneth and Avon. Here, Buttonholer uses the character of Johnny in order to criticize society, further bringing into question the issues of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after', as society manipulates and muffles people in order to gain power over them and achieve their ââ¬Ëhappy ever after'. This is seen through Facet and Parsons instant attempts to evict Johnny from the forest in order to build the new estate, as he is the only obstacle in the way.Additionally, the rather ominous ending where Buttonholer uses an ellipsis to create a rather unsatisfying conclusion is used to point out that the ââ¬Å"struggle between Logos and Myth'sâ⬠is still occurring in society and that it has not yet reached its conclusion. ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' through the supercilious behavior of society towar ds Johnny, This becomes apparent through the extravagant lies Johnny uses to mask his unfulfilled life. An example of this is when he describes his life in the forest, where he has ââ¬Ëseen the air go still and all sound stop and a golden stag clear this clearing. However, the reference to the ââ¬Ëgolden stag is seen within Catholicism as a symbol for Christ, therefore showing the spiritual fulfillment that the forest brings him, similarly to the spiritual fulfillment brought through religion. The use of this sudden fulfillment within Johnny's life emphasizes the issues with ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after'. This is shown through Johnny and his happiness within the forest, and the apparent fact that society removes his ââ¬Ëhappy ever after'.This therefore portrays the solipsistic nature of society and their inability to allow others to reach their ââ¬Ëhappy ever after'. Furthermore, the fact that no one aids him furthers Butterscotch's critique of society as they are solipsistic and therefore oblivious to others needs. This is shown through the fact that Johnny is a mere obstacle to society that needs to be overcome. This can be seen through the authoritative language used by Facet and Parsons when they address Johnny at the start of the play by saying; ââ¬Ëreference 4. 06. 01006' as they are dehumidifying Johnny through their use of numerical language. This therefore calls into question whether our lives are fulfilled, and therefore the idea of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' as Buttonholer uses Johnny to illustrate that no one is truly happy. It becomes apparent through the course of the play that the idea of ââ¬Ëhappiness' and forever after' are being called into question through the use of Johnny. This is shown through his failure to keep his ââ¬Ëhappy ever after' therefore showing that although they exist, they are not achievable.

Online Computer Science Courses Offer Multiple Specialties within the Discipline of Computer Science 2019
Before the year 1920, the word computer referred to a person who performed calculations. Today the field of computer science has grown to include sub-disciplines such as computer graphics, computational complexity theory, and programming language theory. Many students choosing to attend computer science schools online or through some other means are attempting to streamline their entrance into this vast field by selecting a specialty within an undergraduate program. What is Computer Science? The discipline of computer science explores the theory behind information and calculation and then applies this knowledge to computer systems. Despite its relative newness as an academic field, it has already made major contributions to society, including the internet and personal computers (PCs). Depending on the sub-discipline, the study of computer science may focus on calculating specific results, solving problems, or resolving challenges in executing computations. Possible Specializations in Computer Science Computer Science and Software Design: Specializing in software design through a computer science course online is centered on the fact that software must be continually updated over time to remain useful. The online computer science program at Warren National University uses the software design specialization to teach students the intricate details of the design, implementation, and maintenance phases of software development. Kennedy-Western University students also complete online computer science courses to learn how to create efficient, useful software that produces effective results. .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab:active, .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .ue3f27966bfa1e67e05b28bc857d6f6ab:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Colleges and Universities in Alberta, Canada Pursuing Online and Campus-based Education in Alberta, CanadaComputer Science and Software Development: Similar to specializing in software design, some computer science schools online offer a concentration in software development. In addition to the principles of software design, students specializing in software development learn to decipher when to sacrifice design for functionality. Students also take online computer science classes to understand evaluation tools that maximize software efficiency and allow for continued modification and development even after the original release of the software. Computer Science and Programming: In order to specialize in programming, some students choose to take a computer science course online for official certification while others incorporate the specialty into a bachelors degree in computer science. A specialization in programming teaches students how to create the instructions that tell a computer system what to do. Professionals specializing in programming create code for everything from financial development programs to flight simulator training programs. .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa:active, .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .u79a122ff6f817ce0856f146a9dfa0aaa:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Michigan Colleges and Universities Pursuing Online and Campus-Based Education in MichiganQualities for Success in Computer Science Students pursuing a career in computer science will be most successful with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
